Each team must designate a Team Captain and better yet, a Co-Team Captain. Each team is permitted a maximum of two Captain's/Coaches. The Team Captain(s) must identify them self to the League Directors prior to the first game via an email to adultleague@daviesharks.com. There will be a Captain’s Meeting prior to the first weekend of games to go over roles, responsibilities and expectations. During this meeting, any proposals for possible new rules can be discussed. Once rules are understood and agreed upon, NO changes to any rules during the season will be made. A communication will be sent to notify of date, time and location (usual done via a video chat meeting).

Captains are responsible to be the leaders of the Davie United Soccer Club divisions and are counted upon to carry out and demonstrate positivity amongst their respective teams/players.

Captains are responsible for registering as "COACH" for their respective team in the SQWAD app (this serves as a second registration, and is FREE). By doing so, it is the Captains job to make certain each of their rostered registered players has their uniform/jersey number assigned matching the team roster upon the app, along with the players profile picture and players information is correct. If it is discovered that a Captain allowed a non-rostered player or a knowingly illegal player to participate in an Adult League match, the Captain will be sanctioned and suspended from the League.

PLAYOFFS: (Top 16 Teams qualify)

At any point the Center Official can request identification from any player. If it is not presented the player will not be permitted to participate in the game.

At the culmination of the game the Team Captain and Center Official will sign the Game Card to show agreement of the score, goal scorers and any cautions or comments that the Center Official may want to make.

SPORTSMANSHIP & PLAYER CONDUCT:
Davie United Soccer Club expects all players to act in a grown up, mature, responsible manner. The highest levels of Sportsmanship are required. Under no circumstances will foul or abusive language to game officials, opponents, teammates or supporters be tolerated. Players should set an example to those watching on the sidelines and be role models for one another.
RED / YELLOW / CARDS:
An accumulation of five (5) yellow cards over the course of the league season will result in a one game suspension. Following the fifth (5th) yellow card a one game suspension will be awarded after every second yellow card. For example, after the 7th, 9th and 11th yellow card etc. a one game suspension will be sanctioned to the player. Should a player pick up their fifth yellow card in the final pool play game of the season before Play Offs, that player must serve their suspension in the first Play Off game should their team progress to that stage.

A straight red card means a player is dismissed from the game, no re-entry into the game and nor shall the team be able to substitute a player in to replace the dismissed player. This player must leave the bench and field area before the game will resume. The team will play with one (1) less player for the remainder of the match. A straight red card is an automatic two (2) game suspension. A red card for Abusive Language towards an officials is an automatic four (4) game suspension. The suspension always starts with the next game on the teams schedule. If a player receives a red card in the final league game prior to Playoffs, the player in question will not be permitted to play the Playoff games until the suspension is served. Two (2) yellow cards culminating in a red card meets with a one (1) game suspension. Three (3) red cards in the same season results in a player being suspended for the remainder of the season.
ZERO (0) TOLERANCE
As stated prior on this webpage as DUSC RULE #1, Davie United Soccer Club is a ZERO (0) TOLERANCE Adult League with regards to violent conduct. Fighting, punching, slapping, spitting, violent behavior, racism, which includes verbal threats and abusive language will not be acceptable behavior (towards referees, participants or game observers).
KICK OFF TIME:
Games will kick off on the scheduled time. Any team that does not have the sufficient number of players for a game will forfeit the game. There will be a 10-minute grace period from the scheduled kick off time for a team to provide the sufficient number of players. If the sufficient number of players turn up after the allotted time, the teams can still play the game providing both teams agree to play however, the forfeit will still stand. All forfeit wins are considered 8-0 games and the team that forfeits will have two points deducted from their total points tally. The officials are not obligated to stay and officiate the game once a forfeit has been determined.
UNIFORMS / GEAR:
Each team must provide its own matching uniform, jersey, shorts and socks. The players jersey must have a visible number on the back side of it. The Players jersey number must match the game card on the SQWAD app which the referee uses to verify the players eligibility to participate.

If there is a color clash between two teams, the team listed as the away team on the schedule must provide a different uniform that does not clash with the team listed as the home team.
For uniforms, visit our adult DUSC adult uniform shop. Colors of the kits can be altered from the red kits featured; team logos and names can be added.

SLIDE TACKLE RULE:
If a defending player slides to the ground and impedes, or interferes with another player with or without the ball— this is a slide tackle foul. Whether intentional or unintentional.
The aggression and severity of the slide tackle is at the referees discretion. No card, Yellow card or Red card. All slide tackle fouls that are not yellow or red cards whether given inside or OUTSIDE the penalty box are INDIRECT free kicks.
If a player slides and does not interfere with another player, by way of impeding the opponent, making the opposing player have to change their direction, making contact with the player, or etc., and there is no clear offense or danger to what slide the defending player did––no slide tackle foul is given.

If a YELLOW or RED card is declared on a slide tackle in the penalty box area—a PENALTY KICK will be awarded. If a slide tackle is ruled but is considered to be harmless --it is just an indirect Free Kick.

NO METAL STUDS ON SOCCER CLEATS ARE PERMITTED.
SHIN GUARDS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIME WHEN PLAYING A GAME UPON THE PITCH.
If a player is found to have any of these rules broken, they will be immediately removed from the match until proper gear is displayed to the referee to re-enter the game.

8v8 games are 35 mins halves and 5 minute half times. All games are considered official at the culmination of the first half. If a game is cancelled after the first half for any reason, forfeit, adverse weather, the game is considered official. If a game does not make it to the end of the first half the club will look to reschedule the game to the next available date. When the rescheduled game begins the game will start as a 0-0 game with the clock at 0 minutes played.

In Play Off games, if the same situation arises where the game is cancelled after the first half for any reason, forfeit, adverse weather, the game is considered official. If the game is a tie game, 0-0, 1-1, 2-2 etc., the higher seed team will be the team that advances to the next round and the lower seed team will be eliminated.
INELIGIBLE PLAYERS (SPARTAN RULE)
If a player is deemed to not meet the league requirements, i.e. the player is actually underage for the league but has been participating in the league. The team that the player has been playing on will forfeit ALL games per the forfeit rule, dated from when the player registered into the league, not whether they participated in a game or not. Additionally, both the ineligible player and the captain of the team will be removed from the league and not permitted to return.
UNREGISTERED PLAYERS:
If a player who is not registered in the league is found to have played in a game the team will forfeit each game per the forfeit rule. Additionally, the captain of the team will be removed from the league and not be permitted to return.
PROTESTS/GRIEVANCES:
Any protests and/or grievances will be made in writing and sent to adultleague@daviesharks.com. If the protest/grievance is the result of an incident in a game, the protest/grievance must be filed within 36 hours from the scheduled kick off time of the game. Any game protests/grievances received after this time frame will not be accepted.

The Davie United Soccer Club Board of Directors will have the final determination for all protests and/or grievances. Once a determination is made it is final and no appeal will be accepted.
